INTRODUCTION
Definitely not as young as I use to be! Still as proud as ever to serve my country as a US Navy sailor and the lessons I learned along the way. Battleships in the background at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard, where I acquired my first taste of leading instructor-led training to sailors.
Hello, I'm Josh, a learning and development leader, transplanted, by way of marriage, to Maine!
Based in Northern Maine, just a short drive from the Bangor International Airport, I have worked remotely for 13+ years during my professional career, including 4 years with Motorola and 9 years with SMART Technologies. I am a Learning and Development leader with a knack for distilling challenging concepts into bite size, digestible content so learners can, you guessed it, learn! Often as Learning Experience Designers, we over complicate learning by adding too much detail, or adding detail at the wrong time, or not quite in the right order. Learning is difficult enough as it is. However, I earned my "KISS degree," Keep it Short and Simple or Keep it Super Simple, from the US Navy!
I earned my Bachelor's degree in Education at the University of Maine which further ignited my passion for learning and development. I continued my pursuit of learning and development with a Master's degree in Curriculum Development and Instructional Design from the University of Phoenix, and a Post-Graduate certificate program, a Master's +30 or CAS, in Technology Education (eLearning) and Administration and have continued to work in the field of learning and development.
